Do You Qualify for DACA Status?

Not everyone qualifies for DACA. Only specific individuals will end up meeting the requirements. These requirements include:

After 2022, Only Renewals from current DACA recipients are allowed
Being born after June 16, 1981.
Having entered the US before their 16th birthday.
Continuously living in the US since June 15, 2007, until the DACA request was filed.
Not having lawful immigration status on June 15, 2012.
An educational requirement. This is covered by currently being enrolled in school, having graduated or received a certificate of completion from high school, obtaining a GED certificate, or being an honorably discharged veteran of the US Armed Forces or the US Coast Guard.
Never being convicted of a significant misdemeanor or three or more other misdemeanors or a felony and not posing any other threat to public or national security.

Only someone who meets all of these requirements qualifies for DACA status. However, this status isn’t granted automatically. The individual needs to file a specific request to obtain DACA status. This involves following the government’s program for requesting DACA for the first time.
